Executive Assistant to the Business Manager

The Executive Assistant to the Business Manager is responsible for the efficient operations of the Business Manager’s office and will provide a high level of confidential, professional, effective and timely support to the Business Manager.

This is a critical service role supporting the successful functioning of the Business Manager’s office by ensuring that the range of administrative processes required to support the Business Manager and School Council are completed in a timely manner and to an exceptional standard.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build rapport and interact effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a Company Board.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage competing tasks.
  • Previous experience in an Education environment would be highly regarded.

This is a Full-time or Part-time (FTE 0.8) ongoing role commencing immediately.

Music Administrator

Lauriston Girls’ School actively encourages and supports students wishing to participate in the music program consisting of classroom music, music lessons (instrumental and theory) and ensemble groups. The School offers instrumental music programs at particular year levels where all students are expected to participate.

The Music School Administrator works with the Head of Music and is responsible for administration of all aspects of the Music Program to ensure efficient and effective running of the Music School and provides administrative support to reception and other areas of the School.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with a positive customer-oriented attitude to ensure queries are followed up and resolved.

This is an important role within the School, as it is the initial contact for parents, students, staff and visitors, therefore, it is essential that the incumbent has strong communication skills (verbal and written).

This is a Full-time, ongoing role with a start date from mid to late June 2022.

Expression of Interest - Qualified Early Childhood Educators

Sutherland House, established in 1991, is part of Lauriston Girls' School and is situated in the leafy streets of Armadale.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educators to fill the role within our long day care programs as:

  • Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator (Full Time, Maternity leave until March 2023)
  • Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator (Full Time, ongoing)
  • Diploma and/or Certificate III Early Childhood Educators (casual shifts)

The successful candidates will be required to:

  • Support Team Leaders and qualified staff within our long day care programs to implement and evaluate play and learning experiences in partnership with families and in accordance with the EYLF and NQF
  • Work collaboratively with a team of educators and place importance on care and education
  • Demonstrate a professional level of written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful you will require a relevant qualification and experience working in Long Day Care.  A sound understanding of the NQF and EYLF.  An understanding of the Reggio Emilia Philosophy will be an advantage, along with:

  • Current WWCC
  • Current Police Check (within 6 months).
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
  • Current Child Protection Certificate 
  • Flexibility to work between 7:30am -6:00pm 50 weeks per year.  Except Public Holidays

Learn to Swim Teachers and Pool Lifeguards

Swim Instructors

Here at the Lauriston Swim School, our Learn to Swim instructors are responsible for delivering structured in water classes for children aged 4-15 years old, focusing on water safety and stroke development.

To be successful in the role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • AustSwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Experience in instructing LTS programs and delivering skill specific lesson plans
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate a variety of aquatic skills to children of all abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills

First Aid qualifications are looked upon favorably, but not essential.

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
