Digital Marketing Specialist

The Digital Marketing Specialist is a member of the Marketing and Communications team and will work with the School’s digital marketing agency and Lauriston staff to deliver high quality marketing campaigns that make a lasting impact on our school community.

Working within a small but agile and professional team, they are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing digital marketing strategies that tell the stories of Lauriston, enhancing the School’s brand awareness and increasing enquiries and enrolments.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in marketing and communications, specifically in the digital, SEO and social media space and a desire to contribute to a collaborative and professional team environment.

This is a full-time role and is available for an immediate start.

Percussion Teacher

Lauriston Girls’ School seeks to employ a committed, enthusiastic, and inspiring Percussion Teacher for approximately 1 day per week, commencing in Term 1, 2022.

This is a casual, fixed-term leave replacement position for Term 1 only.   

This position includes approximately 4.5 hours of private tuition and direction of the Senior Percussion ensemble. While there is some flexibility regarding the teaching day, availability to teach on Wednesdays is preferable. 

The successful applicant will be a dynamic, innovative, and motivating percussion specialist, with demonstrated experience teaching beginner to advanced level musicians. They will have a clear understanding of the relevant examination syllabi and be willing to incorporate technology and other elements of contemporary curriculum into their lessons.  

They will have experience directing senior level ensembles and will encourage student involvement in the school’s co-curricular ensemble program, in order to develop the percussion culture at Lauriston. A collaborative teaching approach is essential for working as a member of the Lauriston Music Department. 
 
A current VIT registration or Working with Children Check is required.

Violin/Viola Teacher

Lauriston Girls’ School seeks to employ a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Violin & Viola for approximately 2.5 days per week, commencing Term 1, 2022.

This casual position includes the following:

  • Approximately 1 day per week of ongoing private teaching
  • Involvement in the Years 2 & 3 Strings Program; availability to teach on Tuesday mornings is essential
  • Approximately 1 day per week of private teaching for Term 1 only - Maternity Leave replacement
  • Optional involvement in the school’s co-curricular ensemble program, dependent upon availability

This position may be split between multiple applicants, depending on the availability and suitability of each applicant. 

The successful applicant will be a dynamic, innovative and motivating teacher and musician, with demonstrated experience teaching both beginners and experienced students.

They will have a clear understanding of the relevant AMEB syllabi and be willing to incorporate technology and other elements of contemporary curriculum into their lessons.

Experience teaching within a Kodály framework is highly desirable.

They will encourage and promote student involvement in the school’s co-curricular ensemble program to further develop the string culture at Lauriston.

A collaborative teaching approach is essential for working as a member of the Lauriston Music Department.

Qualified Early Childhood Educators

Sutherland House, established in 1991, is part of Lauriston Girls' School and is situated in the leafy streets of Armadale.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced and passionate Qualified Early Childhood Educators to fill three roles.

Early Childhood Lead Educator 3-year-old group - Full time

Early Childhood Co-Educator - Part time, 2 days per week Monday and Friday

Early Childhood Support - Part time, 3 days per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

The successful candidates will be required to:

  • Implement and evaluate play and learning experiences in partnership with families and other educators in accordance with the NQF.
  • Work with a team of educators who have great knowledge and place importance on the work and focus on individual development and mentoring.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Service Manager in all areas of administrative procedures.
  • Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful, you will require a Diploma qualification, experience working in Long Day Care and sound understanding of the NQF and EYLF. An understanding of the Reggio Emilia Philosophy will be an advantage, along with:

  • Current WWCC
  • Current Police Check (within 6 months).
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
  • Current Child Protection Certificate
  • Flexibility to work between 7:30am -6:00pm 50 weeks per year (except Public Holidays)

Learn to Swim Teacher

We are seeking experienced Learn to Swim Teachers to join our Aquatics program located at Lauriston Girls’ School, Armadale.

You will be responsible for instructing children aged 4 – 12 years old in our Learn to Swim programs, focusing on water safety and stroke development.

To be successful in the role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Current AustSwim qualification in Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
  • Current CPR qualifications and WWCC (employee). First Aid qualifications are looked upon favourably, but not essential.
  • Experience in instructing Learn to Swim programs and delivering skill specific lesson plans
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate a variety of aquatic skills to children of all abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in industry training and professional development courses
