Local Enrolments

We are delighted that you are considering a Lauriston education for your child.

Lauriston promises to deliver every student an education for life that goes beyond the grades and beyond the class. At the heart of what we do is offer an education that prepares our girls for life.

We often talk about our alumnae and student cohort who are changing the world. Making things happen. Defining their own destiny on their terms. This is a direct result of having been given opportunities at Lauriston Girls’ School to develop confidence in their thinking, leadership qualities and ability to contribute.

Lauriston’s main entry points are Preparatory, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 10. However, there are occasional vacancies in other years, and all enrolment enquiries are considered.

Step 1 - Application

As the first step in the enrolment process, you will be required to complete an Application for Admission. In addition, an application fee of $100 (non-refundable) will be charged per application for local students, payable via credit card.

The Application for Admission form must be provided to the School, together with the following documentation:

  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate
  • A copy of the student’s VISA if they are not an Australian Citizen
  • A copy of any court orders or parenting plans (if applicable)

The above process may vary for international students’, and we recommend you visit the international enrolments page for more information.

Please note that an application is a prerequisite for admission but not a guarantee of enrolment. Successful payment of the application fee is also required before proceeding with next application steps.

Step 2 - Enrolment & student profile

Prior to entry, you will be required to submit an enrolment and student profile to progress your child’s application to the next stage of the process. At this time, we ask you to submit further supporting documentation

As part of the enrolment profile, parents/guardians will be asked to include:

  • Reports from the student’s current school
  • NAPLAN results (if applicable)
  • An up-to-date Immunisation History Statement
  • Reports from external providers, such as educational psychologist assessments (if applicable)
  • Medical reports (if applicable)
  • Documentation regarding court orders relevant to the student’s custody or living arrangements (if applicable)
  • AEAS Test (may be requested in some circumstances)

Please note that completion of the Enrolment Profile and Student Profile forms do not guarantee enrolment into the School.

Step 3 - Enrolment interview

Prior to entry, prospective students and their parents may be invited to attend an enrolment interview up to 36 months before nominated date of entry. This interview is conducted by a senior member of staff and is a mutual conversation with your child to determine whether Lauriston Girls’ School is the right fit for your family.

If you have not done so already, we recommend you attend an upcoming Experience Lauriston event.

Please note: This interview may be held via Skype, Teams or Zoom for international families.

Step 4 - Formal letter of offer

Following the interview, families may receive a formal Letter of offer for their child. To accept the offer, parents/guardian must complete and submit the relevant documents provided by the noted due date as well as make payment of the relevant admission and tuition fees.

Kindergarten Enrolments

Upon acceptance of a place in 3-year-old or 4-year-old Kindergarten, a $1,000 Kindergarten Tuition Deposit is payable.

For girls wishing to secure their place for Prep at the time of accepting a Kindergarten place, an additional non-refundable Admission Fee of $1250 will be payable per student, with a maximum charge of $2250 per family.

Prep – Year 12 Enrolments

A non-refundable Admission Fee is payable with the acceptance of a place for entry into Prep or above. The fee is $1250 per student, with a maximum charge of $2250 per family.

In addition to the Admission Fee, a Tuition Deposit of $2500 is payable for all new students (separate to Scholarship recipients). The Tuition Deposit provides confirmation of the parents’ intention that their child will commence at the School on the agreed date. When a student commences, the Tuition Deposit will be credited to the second tuition fee instalment after commencement.

Please note: Both the Admission Fee and Tuition Deposit are non-refundable and non-transferrable in the event that a student does not commence at the School on the agreed date.

Step 5 - Orientation

Your child will be welcomed to Lauriston Girls’ School through our Orientation Program to ensure a smooth transition at the school.
