Head of the Schoolgirls’ Regatta

Good luck to the students competing at the Head of the Schoolgirls’ Rowing Regatta in Geelong this weekend. It is the major event of the year for our senior rowers and we can’t wait to see the results from a year of hard training. It is a very exciting time for the girls and we look forward to cheering them on from the banks of the Barwon River. GO LAURISTON!

Lauriston Swimming/Swimming Club

Last week Lauriston launched the Lauriston Swimming Club. This club is designed to offer an opportunity for girls to swim and compete under the Lauriston banner at swimming meets and be trained to challenge themselves to be the best they can be. The club will be offered to both Lauriston and non-Lauriston students, and swimmers will be expected to meet the requirements of the squad they are assigned to.

Along with these swimming sessions, Lauriston will still be offering the Squad and Recreational swimming opportunities on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings 6.30–8am for girls who do not wish to attend more than three sessions per week. These girls will still be given the same opportunities to be coached and to compete for the school in the GSV or SSV competitions if selected.
