The Year 12 Graduation Dinner at the Forum, Melbourne, was a fitting tribute to our Class of 2020 and marked the beginning of a special Year 13 for them.

Each year we look forward to celebrating the final results of our graduating class, and we’re so proud of our 2020 cohort, who supported one another through an incredibly challenging year.

Their results – a combined (VCE and IB) median ATAR of 91.5, more than half ranking in the top 10% of the state and 84% achieving an ATAR of 80 and above – are testament to their resilience, determination and courage. These traits will stand them in good stead for the future.

IB Diploma student, Felicity Hu, achieved a score of 45 (99.95 ATAR). Felicity and VCE student, Claire Lin (ATAR 99.8) are our joint duces for 2020.

Amelia Zhu and Jessica Wu both achieved scores of 44 (ATAR 99.75).

Of our 2020 graduates, 87% received their first or second preference for tertiary courses of study in Victoria and 76% will undertake courses at the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

Approximately 76% of the girls will undertake courses at the University of Melbourne and Monash University. Arts, Biomedicine, Science and Commerce are popular choices; however, journalism, marketing, Law, Physiotherapy and Engineering are amongst the broad range of tertiary course our alumnae will be studying. A number of our students have chosen university courses in other States.

There will be many more opportunities for our girls to return to Lauriston for events and informal get-togethers. As we head into a year which continues to hold uncertainties, we will be making sure that our Class of 2020 has a community base where their connections with friends and staff members may continue.

And like those before them, we can’t wait to see the paths our 2020 graduates create for themselves and look forward to sharing more stories of their achievements.
